I’m honored to announce my selection as a volunteer for the 2024 World Food Forum at the FAO UN Headquarters in Rome. Chosen from over 1,000 applicants worldwide, I’ll be contributing to this transformative global event addressing critical food and agriculture issues. With 20,000 attendees expected, including global leaders and experts, I’m eager to engage with crucial topics like food security and sustainable water management. As a Michigander, I’m particularly excited about the Rome Water Dialogue (WASAG). , which aligns with FAO’s mission of ensuring universal access to food and clean water. Working alongside the communications and marketing team, I look forward to helping shed light on this impactful event and its vital initiatives. I’m grateful for this opportunity to contribute to global food and water security efforts. The journey begins October 14th, 2024.

Sono onorata di annunciare la mia selezione come volontario per il Forum Mondiale dell’Alimentazione 2024 presso la sede FAO delle Nazioni Unite a Roma. Scelto tra oltre 1.000 candidati, mi unirò a 100 studenti in questo evento globale che affronta questioni cruciali su cibo e agricoltura. Con 20.000 partecipanti previsti, tra cui leader ed esperti globali, sono ansiosa di confrontarmi su temi come la sicurezza alimentare e la gestione sostenibile dell’acqua. Come originaria del Michigan, sono particolarmente entusiasta del Dialogo sull’Acqua di Roma (WASAG). Questo si allinea con la missione della FAO di garantire l’accesso universale al cibo e all’acqua pulita. Sono grato per questa opportunità di contribuire agli sforzi globali per la sicurezza alimentare e idrica. Il viaggio inizia il 14 ottobre 2024.

Organizing and leading the “Not a Migration Crisis, A Migration Reality” summit alongside the American University of Rome (AUR) and the Harvard Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative was an immensely enriching journey for me. This partnership provided a dynamic platform for discussing the complex issues of migration with a keen focus on fostering understanding and action based on human security and rights. The collaboration with Harvard, an institution that trains future leaders in foreign policy and defense, enhanced the summit’s impact, allowing us to engage with a wide range of perspectives and expertise. It was a remarkable opportunity to contribute to a vital global dialogue, emphasizing the need for empathy, informed policy, and collective action in addressing migration realities. Reflecting on my experience with the American University of Rome, our trip to Brussels for a close-up view of the European Parliament stands out as a highlight of my studies in International Organizations and International Relations. Immersing ourselves within the heart of European politics, we gained unparalleled insights into the workings of the European Union, witnessing firsthand the legislative process and the dynamics of international diplomacy. This unique opportunity not only broadened my understanding of the EU’s pivotal role in global affairs but also deepened my appreciation for the complexities of international relations. Engaging with policymakers and participating in discussions illuminated the challenges and intricacies of governance on such a grand scale, enriching my academic journey and fueling my passion for international affairs.

This expedition not only allowed us to witness the majestic beauty of the Dolomites but also to engage deeply with the region’s unique culture and heritage. My focus was on fostering a holistic understanding among students about how eco-tourism can be a powerful tool for conservation and cultural preservation. By integrating lessons on environmental stewardship with hands-on experiences in sustainable living, we aimed to inspire a new generation of travelers committed to respecting and preserving natural wonders for future generations.
